About 1% For The Planet

1% For The Planet is a global organization that connects dollars and doers to accelerate smart environmental giving. It pairs businesses and individuals with approved environmental nonprofits, creating high-impact partnerships that amplify the impact of members’ giving. It was founded in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies. Today, 1% for the Planet is a network of more than 3,800 members in more than 64 countries who have given over $275 million to environmental nonprofits.
